In the town of Zagórz on Marymont Hill, there are impressive ruins of the monastery of the Discalced Carmelites - one of the most interesting architectural structures in this part of Poland, shrouded in many legends.

The ruins of the monastery of Discalced Carmelites are from the 18th century. The ruins can be accessed through a gate in the fortified walls, fitted with embrasures, pointing to the only road that once led directly to the monastery. At present, the ruins are accessible via Klasztorna Street or Rzeczna Street. Within the walls, there was a Church, a convent, two towers, a storey guardhouse and outbuildings. The monastery was on fire twice. The deteriorating ruins of the monastery of Discalced Carmelites have been cared for by the local government of the municipality of Zagórz and in 2000 the monastery became the property of the municipality. Currently, there are renovation works being done to protect this unique monument in the country.
