The ruins of the old palace belonging to the Ballestrem family and the remains of the house where Karol Godula, a Silesian entrepreneur of the first half of the nineteenth century, lived are the places forgotten for years. At the beginning of the twenty-first century, new ideas of how to make use of them came up. The authorities of Ruda Śląska passed the monuments to the Silesian Foundation "Zamek Chudów" in hopes of revitalization and making them a tourist attraction.
