This is an 800 year old castle that has been preserved in excellent condition.  Today it is a hotel and restaurant complex.

The first mention of Kurozweki was in the 13th century when Dobieslaw from Kurozweki built a wood and brick castle, the seat of the Kurozweki family. His descendants owned the castle till 1521 when, along with the town, it passed to into the possession of the Lanckoronski family. The current shape was achieved in the mid 18th century during its reconstruction. In subsequent centuries it passed through the hands of other families like the Mecinski and Soltyk. These last ones rebuilt their home into a Baroque palace.  The last pre-war owners were the Popiel family whose descendant Jan Marcin Popiel is the current owner. The castle is surrounded by a park with huge platanus and beech trees. The landscaped park designed in the English style, founded by Anastasia Rudnicka-Soltyk, was finished off between 1811 and 1825. The palace and park are well maintained and attract visitors with its catering and hospitality. There is a mini zoological garden in the park with camels, ostriches and American bison. In the historical interior there is a guest house, a conference rooms which can hold up to 120 people and a restaurant. Carriage rides and horseback riding can also be arranged.
